Be careful not to diet to strictly while trying to get pregnant. Many women seem to be on a perpetual diet. Cutting back on healthy foods when your body is trying to conceive is not good for you or your potential fetus. Don't exclude any food groups from your diet, but don't go crazy with any one group either. Try to eat three ounces of protein each day including fish, nuts, beans, meat and chicken.


Talk to your doctor, fertility specialist or herbalist about vitamin supplements that can help you to fill the gaps. Ask them which vitamins you should take, and share your diet with him or her. Start on prenatal vitamins before you are pregnant, as they are very important in the early stages of a pregnancy, when you often don't even know that you are expecting.
