I hate to say it, but I heard it hurts like a b***h. But, if you're smart, you'll take something a few horus before you have it put in. Ibuprofen or something like that. |

Look, even if it hurts a bit when they put it in, think of all the FREEDOM after. Five frigging years of not having to think about birth control. Worth a bit of pain if you ask me. |

Hi Sophia, glad you asked cuz this is something I happen to know about. The pain isn't the end of the world, so you'll take something before you go in, and mebbe for a few horus after. The real thing you need to think about is timing. Make sure the put it in a week before you get your period. My doctor said that's real important. |

You don't say, but if you had a baby, you need to wait for 6 weeks. Like, just when you stop bleeding and caN sex again, you'll have to go get the mirena put in. |

i had an iud and it hurt going in but the real clincher was when they took it out. it stuck to the side of my uterus and i cant even tell you how bad the pain was when the doc pulled that sucker out |

i have the mirena and when my doctor inserted it didn't hurt that much all i felt was cramps. |
