I have been taking the combination birth control pill since 2006. But I am on a long trip and stopped taking it a month ago (that is, I didn't restart after my last period) with the idea that I would restart them a month or so before I see my intimate partner in February. However, it had since occurred to me that this is probably a pretty harebrained to try to save money on prescriptions! and I would like to restart. When can I? Should I wait till the Sunday after I would normally have my period? (I have been having light continuous bleeding for the past 3 days, a week before I would normally expect my period). Is stopping and starting again like that going to really mess with my hormones?
