IUD and Plan B -- Need answer! Thanks!

Hello all. My girlfriend and I had a condom break on us Friday. She took plan b yesterday to be safe. She has an appointment to get a merena iud placed tomorrow morning. Is it safe to have that done so soon after taking plan b? She would ask her doctor but she is uncomfortable mentioning plan b to her. She is a nurse in OB and works with her gynecologist regularly. I still felt like she should ask her but she is really uncomfortable with telling her she used plan b because she feels the doctor is quite conservative. That is why I am asking here. Thanks for any information!

i think there is really nothing wrong when your gf took emergency pill and scheduled for the insertion of mirena iud. but then, better safe than sorry! tell your girlfriend that you guys need to know what could be the consequences by asking the gyne. there is nothing wrong in educating yourself about it.
