I was diagnosed with PCOS more than 10 years ago. I was put on birth control pills when I was diagnosed to regulate my cycles. When my husband and I started TTC, my Dr. put me on Metformin instead of the birth control to regulate my cycles. It is common for PCOS women who are TTC to be on metformin. (By the way, metformin is cheap, only $4 a month!) The drug is usually prescribed to people with diabetes to help control insulin, but it also helps with ovulation. Once I got on the correct dosage, my cycles became regular again. It did take a while to get pregnant - my husband and I tried for 2 1/2 years, but today I am in my 25th week and excited to meet my coming son. A good book on TTC is called Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. I highly recommend it. It also has a section dedicated to PCOS women. Good luck!
