does anyone know if it's true that you need to wait awhile after a miscarriage to try to have another baby? my sister miscarried and had a D&C and now she wants to try again.

as far as i know, you need to wait three months after having a d$c. the doctors say they want your uterus to recover and to give your body a bit of time before trying again.

the doctor told me to wait a few months - but i didn't and everything was fine with teh baby that i had! maybe i took a chance...but i know other people who have also not waited and had everything turn out fine

most doctors want you to be careful not to rush into the situation again espeically because of the emotional stuff you go through. i'm sorry for your sisters loss, its a hard one. hope she has a good preganancy and healthy baby this time around

I heard it depends on which kind of miscarriage you had, and how far along it was.

I don't think u should have sex right away after a mis, so for sure you;d want to wait before getting pregnant.

Look, a girl can ovulate within 2 weeks of a mis, but it really depends on whether it was a spontaneous mis or if it was amessy, drawn out kind of mis with D&C and etc.

I think u want to wait until your cycle is back to normal, that can be different for different women.

I noticed that a lot of women get preg fast after a mis thinking that their bodies can't get preg yet. I guess if u can get preg, there's no reason u sholdn't.
