I am 40 years old, mother of three grown children, married a long time and am happy. I am not on any birth control or any meds. at all. but my period started 4 months ago very heavy big clots, no cramps, I have to change my pads every half hour, so it makes daily living hard. Not to mention my sex life with my husband has been on edge. I have no insurance for myself, so I was wondering is there a answer to this extreme bleeding? Could it be serious? What is possibly causing it? Any answers or suggestions?

I think if you know that you are not going to have any children its better to have a hysterectomy. After that you will have a good sex life.
