I have a strong family history of breast cancer. Last year I had a mammogram and ultrasound done and it showed that I had a 2.cm cyst in my right breast and that I have very dense breast. This year exam it showed the same cyst in the same area and another one in the same breast not far from the first one.

Is it normal for cyst to remain in the same area? Not sure if should be concerned out at all.

I too have family history and dense breast tissue. My dr says the best way to put your concerns to rest- have a fine needle biopsy. It is very simple-not too uncomfortable and wll let you know if you need to investigate it further to be removed. No matter what-continue exams and keep track of your findings. Ultimately the decision to follow through is yours.
