I am 48 years old and have never had real regular cycles (usually 3-5 days early). My periods have always been what I consider normal though (nothing really heavy). First day light then 2nd and 3rd day heavier, 4th and 5th day coming to an end. The problem now is that I started my period 14 days ago and it hasn't stopped. The first 5 days were as normal as ever but as of the 6th day it got much heavier. By the 7th day it is so heavy that I am flooding badly with very large clots and very often. I have gone through 3 boxes of super plus tampons in less than 14 days. I feel tired and weak most of the time now. I worry about going anywhere because of the flooding. Can anyone tell me if they have or are going through this same thing.

I know the feeling all to well. I go threw 40 tmpns and with pads in a 24 hr time frame. I have fibroids come to find out along with cysts. My carpet looks like a murder has happened. I am going in for a hysterectomy soon. I can no longer work due to not knowing when I will start bleeding and on the heavy days my bed is my only friend. I wont leave the house. have you had a pap along with a ultra sound? that is how they found my fibroids. Good luck
