I'm a 20 year old female and I'm not an overly hairy person, but when I was about 14 I grew stomach hair and and also little hairs around my nipple and I decided to shave them, I noticed that it grew back thicker and continued shaving for about 3 months. Ever since then the hairs have been really dark, thick and noticeable. I also have a couple of long-ish hairs on my neck and grow a couple of short hairs in between my breasts and on my chest- they are blonde and not very noticeable, but after plucking them for about a year some are noticeable now. I feel to self conscious to go get naked or wear a bikini because of it and am too embaressed to go to a doctor. I'm not sure whether it's just normal hair and I've just aggravated it, (but the hair grew in between my breasts and chest and neck which I didn't shave) or it is a problem. I have been looking up similar symptoms and found hirituism. Do you think this sounds like that? or do you think it's some sort of chemical inbalance? If I went to a doctor would I have to show them? and is there any way of treating this?
