Is it possible to get pregnant during the early stages of menopause? I'm not there yet - but this forum is making me think. i can just see, with my luck, that i'll stop using birth control and get pregnant when i think i don't need to worry anymore! any thoughts?

Very funny alaska_gurlly. What do u mean by early stages of menopause, amhpgseverino?

I think if u didn't get your period 4 a whole yr. it's not a prob.

If you still bgetting periods here and there, use BC. but being menopausal means not having a period for a whole year. If you go 12 months, you're safe.

Even if u get pregnant, u might miscarry since your eggs are getting old and moldy ;-)

If u don't want to get preg. Use soemthing, cuz u can definitely still get preg at the start of the meno.

So don't stop using BC yet. Just wait until you're sure that's it.

a woman can be in the early stages of menopause for a long, long time. everyone is right that not having a period for a full year is one of the signs of menopause, but you can still have a period or two or three after that time as well. but, i don't think the eggs are up for the job. altho, did anyone read about that woman who had a baby at 65 last year in the states? so, whose to say?
