I'm really stressing out, I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I'm a 23 year old female, I've been on the pill (Mercilone) since october 2008, so far I havent had any problems. Last january (2009) I wanted to delay my period, so after 21 days of taking the pill, I didnt take a break for 7 days and just started the following course (another 21 days). I ofcourse consulted my gynacologist before doing that.

Now I'm supposed to stop the pill sunday 1st of march, the problem is last saturday (21st feb) I noticed some brown spotting. Now I dunno of this is normal, so can someone please tell me what to do? Is something wrong with the pill? is it not working anymore? should I my boyfriend and I use condoms?

Please note that I'm a smoker, I dunno if that changes anything.
