I've been told by my gyno that I probably have UD and it will need to be surgically repaired. I've had symptoms for over a year and finally found a doctor who figured out what was wrong. My question regards the possible damage that has been done in that year. About 6 months ago I had an episode of gout-like symptoms. Ever since that, my feet ache like it's going to return. I'm suspicious that the UD prevented the efficient removal of uric acid from my system and this continues to be a problem. I've also been treated for UTI's frequently this year. Anyone with experience in this area, please respond.
